Felipe Schmidt Digital Project, initiative of the CDL of Florianópolis and Globalwave Telecom, will be released next week
The main street of the capital trade will have internet open to the population from November 6. This is the date of the official launch of the Felipe Schmidt Digital project, initiative of the CDL of Florianópolis and the telecommunications company Globalwave Telecom, which will enable free connection to the network between Square XV and Padre Roma Street. Anyone who wants to know and test the technology can participate in the launch event, next Tuesday (6), at 9:30 am, in the stretch of the sidewalk between the streets Jerome Coelho – the first “themed street” of the Capital, another project of the CDL – and Álvaro de Carvalho.
For Pedro Paulo de Abreu, president of the CDL of Florianópolis, this will be a differential for those who attend the trade in the city center, and also an attraction for tourists. “This technology will value the region, which can be discovered even by outsiders but is connected by phone or tablet. The merchant also wins with a larger and more qualified movement in the region ", highlights.
“ The focus is on the social use of the web, for basic operations such as accessing emails, seeing websites and locating yourself,” explains Eduardo Reis, Globalwave’s business manager. He recalls that the area of coverage of the connection will be the street environment, not the interior of the shops, thus valuing the service for pedestrians.
