The Borders of Thought is a multiple cultural project that focuses on freedom of intellectual expression and quality education as tools for development. Through series of conferences, Borders opens room for debate on the identity of the 21st century, presenting thinkers, scientists and leaders who are, each in their own way, at the forefront in their areas of research and thought.
The international seminar focuses on the analysis of contemporary and future perspectives, having as basic values the pluralism of approaches and the academic and intellectual rigor of its guests. Originators of disparate regions, with distinct and often conflicting views, the speakers direct their analyses to the understanding of this century, forming, in the whole, a plural and interdisciplinary line of thought. Thus, the project seeks to evaluate trends, accepting the provocation of these who are today some of the most representative thinkers in action.
2012 edition
The Borders of Thought arrives the second edition in Santa Catarina and reinforces the proposal to promote a cycle of conferences on some of the main themes of contemporary life. In 2012, British filmmaker Peter Greenaway, French philosopher Michel Onfray and Brazilian writer Fernando Gabeira were invited to take on a healthy practical engagement with important global issues, without giving up reflection.
