# Hash or not #tag

We were discussing the issue of hashtags on Facebook at the agency's core this week. Whether or not they would have relevance in researching certain subjects or promotion phrases. At least in integrating with Instagram (bought by Facebook), we tested the possibility of scheduling an event and it worked. For now The Wall Street Journal comes to speculate that it is, Facebook works on a project to take advantage of the famous and well-known game of old # on its platform. Twitter was the one who implemented the research and use of hashtags on social networks, popularizing interaction through the most commented subjects on the network. And if the idea worked, why not copy it?

Facebook's appetite is increasingly confirmed in wanting to know what the user wants or seeks. It's been forming for some time now with the inclusion of ads on pages, a gold mine. Graphic Search is coming and can be an unbeatable double alongside hashtags in dictating trends, products or brands. Facebook reinvents itself gradually, advancing firmly as the largest social network on the planet. It is reorganizing Feeds that have gained new functionality and Timeline has been redesigned. Few users have experienced the changes so far.

While hashtags popularize issues on the network, it has the effect of highlighting memes without importance, trivializing terms and campaigns of users more engaged or with more followers. On Twitter, high-tagged themes are listed in Trending Topics, which are not by chance accessed by countries and even cities. A good way out to sift matters from the preferred region. On Facebook, you will change the use of the timeline with the reading of only the subjects that interest the user. In addition, the change could benefit social network integration with Instagram, which already uses hashtags.

While this is nothing more than a rumor released in the press, nothing has been said about when Facebook has been dedicated to this project, and not even when the appeal will definitely be inserted into the social network. The Wall Street Journal highlighted that the movement could mean a change in the network profile towards the segment that Twitter does best: real-time news repercussion.
