For the first time an initiative that will have broad popular support can result in the inclusion of Florianópolis in the Guinness Book of Records – the record book – as an example of environmental protection. Participation is simple: the population needs to store cooking oil used in PET bottles and look for one of the Voluntary Delivery Points (PEV’s) of the Reóleo project, of the Florianópolis Commercial and Industrial Association (ACIF), from next Saturday (1o) until September 30.
“ Each resident will be the protagonist of this action in defense of the environment. So we can say that with this initiative we will not have Reóleo or ACIF in Guinness, but Florianópolis in the record book ", says the coordinator of Reóleo and Floripa campaign in Guinness, Luiz Falcão de Moura. The campaign aims to bring together community, companies and entities of society around the common goal of conquering a space for the city in the recognized record book.
To achieve this goal, the goal is to collect 10,000 liters of cooking oil in a month. To disseminate this idea among the community and strengthen popular participation in the oil collection, ACIF and partners will develop actions such as lectures in schools and contests. There will also be intense communication work, with the creation of a specific website, which will be on the air in the coming days. The page, created by NationalVox, will have a “measurer” of the collected oil, enabling the population to follow the numbers recorded during the month, information about the project, explanations about the damage that the oil can cause in the environment and a map with the location of the points where it is possible to make donations. “We are also establishing partnerships to increase the number of delivery posts and facilitate the access of residents from all over the municipality to the project,” Falcão says.
The initial ‘point’ of the Floripa campaign in Guinness during ACI Beans, held on Saturday (1o). At the party site, the P12, in Jurerê International, will be a collection point. On the same day, the oil begins to be received in other ENP’s. “It is important that the population store the residue from now on to leave with full force,” the coordinator recalls. There will be collection points in the regional entities, the ACIF Tourist Care Center (CAT) in SC-401, and partners who will be listed in thewww.floripanoguinness.com.br.
ACIF president Doreni Caramori Jr. says the project is a pride of the entity and that the conquest of Guinness will be important for the entire city. “Popular participation to place ReOil in Guinness will show the whole country the concern that Florianopolitan has with the environment. This project, which was born of specific need of the entrepreneurs of Lagoa da Conceição, counted on the work and commitment of many people to become what is today, a structured program and extremely important for the sustainable development of the city ", highlights.
