Florianópolis Prefecture extended to next Monday, 2, the deadline for public consultation for receiving criticisms and comments from the project “Florianópolis – Cidade Digital”, in the wifi modalities (access here) and VOIP (access here). The initial deadline was this Monday, 25.
The project proposes the implementation of a digital network infrastructure to serve the entire city, linking the units of Florianópolis Prefecture and offering wireless internet with free access to the population.
After the closing of the public consultation, the suggestions registered will be evaluated and incorporated into the final project, which will be used as a reference term in the bidding notice for the hiring of the systems.
The digital network will integrate 200 units of Florianópolis City Hall into the fiber optic network of the Metropolitan Government Network.
With integration, the entire territory of the city of Florianópolis will have fiber optic coverage. Connected to the network, public access points with Wi-Fi technology will be available.
The fiber optic network will also be the support of a voice system on IP (VOIP), which provides for the integration of telephone centers of Florianópolis Prefecture. The system will allow for the reduction of current connection costs and increase the security of traffic information.
