Social Good Brazil also brings together recognized national speakers in the area, with chats and panels for the public, all broadcast by livestreaming – live broadcast via internet. The structure, which makes up a differentiated design, aims to provide the debate on the use of technology and innovation in solving social problems and improving quality of life for all. The initiative is from the Online Volunteers Portal (VOL), maintained by the Volunteers Institute in Action, and the Community Institute Greater Florianópolis (ICom).
For the leader and prosecutor of the SGB, Fernanda Bornhausen Sá, the lecture cycle has the prospect of acting as a cutting-edge debate on social innovation. “We believe that technology is a powerful means to transform society and drive a positive social change. We know amazing people and organizations who also believe in it and are making it happen. Technology is a means to a greater end. The network is made up of people and it is they who are transforming society every minute with micro-actions that together become great”.
If you believe that technology is a means that enables the transformation of society and you want to debate ideas for positive social change, sign up for the seminar at www.sgb.org.br. Registration is free and will be open until the start of the event.

Technology for social transformation
The term Social Good means “social good” and its concept, created in the United States, explains the phenomenon of using new technologies and innovative thinking to support causes and solve problems in society. The digital inclusion data in Brazil clarify the importance of organizing a movement for social transformation on the web: in 2012, there are more than 81 million Brazilian Internet users, above 40% of the country's population, 47.5% of whom frequently use it. The total number of Facebook members has already gone up 900 million in the first half of this year, and more than 50 million of this total are Brazilian.
The starting point for the VAT institutions and the ICom projecting the Social Good Brazil event was the holding of the 1st International Seminar on Technology for Social Change, the Together is Better (TiB), in 2010. The seminar was attended by 500 international participants and guests. However, the idea for the theme of the series of lectures in November this year was inspired by the Social Good Summit, which this year promotes the largest globalized meeting, with a livestreaming of 15,000 enrolled in the end of September, in New York, on how technology can improve people's quality of life. The voluntary VAT president,Fernanda Bornhausen Sá, and the chairman of the ICom board, Lucia Dellagnelo, participated in this experience in 2011 and, based on the American proposal, decided to organize the Social Good Brazil program.
