Internet commerce has grown in the pandemic. Alta reflects on the technology sector and promises a business-friendly 2021 for systems developers.
O e-commerce recorded significant billing numbers and growth in 2020 in Brazil. Driven by the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the mode of e-commerce, which had already been in a great expansion in the last decade, played an essential role in the Brazilian economy in the last year.
Data presented in 42nd edition of Webshoppers, conducted by Ebit 26.4 billion to 38.8 billion. According to the survey, there were almost 91 million orders via e-commerce, with a mean ticket in the house of the 427 reais, an increase of 6% compared to the average ticket of 2019, which was 404 reais.
Adriano Krzyuy, vice president of Assespro-PR, entity that represents in an entrepreneurial and political way the technology companies in Paraná, says that the rise of e-commerce is not recent, despite the excellent numbers of 2020.
“The advancement of the internet in the last decade, both in accessibility and quality, made the electronic market a much more attractive and safe space for the realization of purchases. For this movement to be possible, companies were also needed to develop the technology behind these operations. Within our ecosystem, for example, there are developers of ERPs (integrated business management system) for several companies from different branches that have invested heavily in e-commerce, as companies in the food-service, retail sales, multi-products, hypermarkets and, also, fintechs with expertise in virtual commerce”, explains.
Also according to Krzyuy, it is these companies that make up the technology ecosystem that contribute strongly to customer satisfaction, because the better the system behind an e-commerce, the better the customer experience and the greater the loyalty. Ebit e-commerce has exceeded the mark of 41 million users, with 7.3 million shopping on the internet for the first time.
As the pandemic will still have effects in the year 2021, the trend is that internet purchases increase even more and that more customers become adherent to this type of purchase, which will move the entire technology segment in the country.
“Inclusive after the pandemic, certainly the culture of e-commerce will be stronger than ever. Consumers are experiencing the advantages of online purchase And it all indicates that this will increasingly move the technology market. We are absolutely convinced that 2021 will be business-friendly, especially for those companies in the sector that are already prepared to meet those who wish to implement or carry out a upgrade in its e-commerce ", highlights the vice president of Assespro-PR.
