On the morning of Tuesday (22), two Senate committees approved the bill no. 2,126, named Marco Civil da Internet. The objective of the text, which began to be structured in October 2009, is to regulate the Internet in Brazil, an environment that has no regulations at the age of 18.
Now the expectation of the government is that the project be approved, without changes, in time to turn it into law until the NetWorldial, event that will be held from Wednesday (23).
The Civil Framework of the Internet is equivalent to a "Constitution ", with rights, duties and guarantees of internet users and companies linked to the web. In 2013, after complaints about espionage in the US, the federal government sent a request to the House to proceed with the project in a constitutional emergency. The text was approved on the last day of March 25 by the House of Representatives and is focused on " three pillars": privacy, freedom of expression and net neutrality.
Among the main points of the proposal are the guarantee of the right to privacy of users, which involves the inviolability and secrecy of their communications over the Internet; the non-providement of information of access of users to third parties, by providers, unless there is consent of the internet user; and the storage of records of search sites, emails and other data, for only six months.

*Updating Wednesday (23) at 10:24am: The project was approved in plenary, it did not undergo change of content by senators and now it goes for sanction of President Dilma Rousseff.
