Imagine you wanting to sell your product or service through social networks, capricha in the post, puts the best images or videos and that amazing call with offer to attract attention...
But the likes are few, very rare or no comments appear, let alone a request for information or service. The empty message box!
The questions that come to mind:
- Where are those thousands of fans from the page you've won?
- Where could you be wrong?
- Why, even if you do post it often, do you not have visibility and much less return?
Stopping! That would be the most appropriate answer..

Understanding social networks
When it comes to the most interactive and used platforms, Facebook and Instagram are worth gold. Who can blame them? After all, they are the most popular networks that connect us with photos, videos, news, messages, etc.
More importantly, they feed us the latest activities in the lives of our friends and family, but they also provide us with the tools necessary for these interactions and ideas.
Facebook has 2.2 billion active users, 130 million of them in Brazil and Instagram has 29 million, with most users accessing the app by mobile.
Both are popular platforms on which your business or business depends...
But why does your Instagram reach a better audience than your Facebook page, or how did you hit an audience that wasn't interested in your Instagram Ads product or service?
How ads differ in networks:
Surely you have already come across advertising banners in the sidebar and Facebook feed or Instagram feed and stories at some point. These are ads, also called paid media, online media or performance media.
They show products and services that may be interesting for a particular target audience. They offer great options to enhance your actions on the networks, and it is possible to precisely define who you want to achieve.
The ads make all the difference in improving the scope of publications, provided that the specificities of each social network are respected.
With the increasingly evident decrease in organic reach, investments in advertisements contribute to the continued presence of brands in networks attracting the target audience.
And the cool thing is that they need to be a big company to adopt this strategy, even small and medium-sized businesses can enjoy the opportunity and enter the dispute for consumer attention.
To advertise on Facebook and Instagram you must follow practically the same steps!
Both platforms use the Facebook Business Manager and you find a lot of information on how to create the ads in the Facebook for Business.
Announcing on Facebook
The first step is to have a page instead of a personal profile. With a fanpage, you can get an account in Business Manager and also manage Instagram ads.
Some acronyms you need to understand in order to create and analyze your ads:
CPC – Cost per Click: that's how much you pay on average for each click on your ad.
CPM – Cost By 1,000 impressions: definition of how much to pay for 1,000 views of the displayed ad.
CPA – Cost per purchase: definition of how much to pay for a conversion, i.e. per sale.
CPV – Cost Per View: In case the ad is a video, you define how much to pay for a video view.
CPE – Cost Per Engagement: definition of how much to pay for an interaction with the ad, for example: share, click on a link, watch a video, favorite or enjoy.
When entering the Ad Manager, at the beginning of the creation you must choose where it will be displayed, whether it will be desktop, mobile or for both formats. The display location also needs to be set, with the following options: feed; stories; right side column; marketplace; suggested videos; in-stream videos; instant articles.
There are eleven ad formats available:
Video: video ads with sound and movement;
Image: simple visual ads with high visual quality;
Collection: advertisements that display products from a store catalog;
carousel: displays up to 10 images or videos in the same ad, each with its own link;
Multimedia presentation: ads that use sound, movement and text to tell a story;
Instant Experience: previously called Canvas, provides optimized experience for full screen;
Register generation: helps to collect data from people interested in your business;
Offers: discounts that you can share with your customers on Facebook;
Involvement with publication: allows you to boost a post to generate more likes, comments, shares and views;
Participations in the event: help promote events and attract participants;
Liked on the page: They take users to enjoy their page.
How much does it cost to advertise on Facebook?
There are two ways to define the cost: total value spent and cost of each result obtained.
And you're the one who's going to be in control of the total amount spent on your budget, and you can control the cost by result with your bidding strategy. In addition, the network offers two other ways to ensure that you don't spend more than you want:
Campaign spending limit: Set the maximum amount you are willing to spend on a given ad campaign.
Account expenditure limit: Set the maximum amount you are willing to spend on all campaigns you are broadcasting.
Facebook has a dedicated page to explain the step by step of how to announce.
You can choose to spend R$10.00 per day or R$10.00 in a week. If you choose the second option, Facebook itself Ads will untangle the total budget, increasing or decreasing the expenditures of each day according to whether or not the goal of your ad is achieved.
In addition to advertising, you can also sell directly on Facebook. Just create your online store and start selling. After you do this, you can even choose the types of ads that are aimed at your online store on Facebook Ads.
This post from Facebook itself presents and explains the Facebook Shopping feature and other possibilities.
Announcing on Instagram
To create your brand or service ads on Instagram, you can set up by your own app or via Facebook Ad Manager.
A business account (required for ad drive) can be created using your personal profile.
The allowed ad formats are: photo, video, stories, carousel and collection.
In the app, the easiest way to advertise is to promote the posts you shared on Instagram. Simply select the publication you want to promote and follow how many people are seeing and interacting with their promoted publication by touching on View information.
By Ad Manager you can use the same advanced advertising tools as Facebook. You can configure, make changes and see the results of all your campaigns, ad sets and Instagram ads in one location. The Ad Manager is available on computers and mobile devices.
Access Instagram advertising page, where you can deepen in detail in each type of ad, public and segmentations to advertise on the network.
Instagram Shopping
Just as it is possible to have an online store on Facebook, on Instagram would not be different. You can create your business or product and sell directly through Instagram Shopping.
One of the main advantages of selling your product directly on Instagram is the user's ease, as it uncomplicates thepurchase process, mainly for business with simpler sales, as is the case of clothing companies, shoes and electronics, for example.
In this post we explain what is like to set up Instagram Shopping.
Shall we announce?
Announcing in the nets as we have seen so far is not such a difficult thing and not a seven-headed animal. But you need to have research, planning, time and minimum budget to put your online advertising strategy into practice.
Notice that digital marketing is important and yes, you need it to sell. Trust your potential, test ads, measure results, and reap the consequences of having a good digital presence.
