What is WhatApp Business and why should it be considered?
The app, which can also be accessed in the web version, offers business-only functions that help, among other things, in digital marketing.
First, it is possible that the user creates a company profile. In this profile you can add data such as company presentation, area of activity, email, service hours and website.
Another important feature is what allows for the sending of automated and fast messages. You can create texts and send them to consumers at times when the company is not working.
A resource that can be quite useful is the statistics menu, which shows information about the messages sent, delivered, received and read. It is also possible to classify conversations with tags as “new customer”, “pending payment” and “paid”, among others.
If you already have a business, you can attract new customers who prefer to negotiate for the platform. Or if you're planning on opening one, you can validate the idea there, making the first contacts, studying the market and optimizing the strategy.
The truth is, there's no reason to bet on whatsapp sales. You just can't do it amateurly, no planning.
Use streaming lists
This application feature allows you to send the same message to up to 256 contacts. Using the transmission list is more effective than sending messages in groups, as the direct message will get more prominence in the consumer notifications.
Try not to use this feature just to send offers. He can be an ally when it comes to offering quality content, talking about your segment, about the products or services you provide, and even about your company.
Remember that by offering good content to your potential customer, sales will occur naturally.
For a streaming list to work, it is important that the user has his/her contact saved on the mobile phone, so the strategy works very well to offer new services to customers you already have.
Build your audience
It is not enough to know how to sell by WhatsApp if you do not know how to conquer new contacts.
Some strategies to have new contacts are already used on other social networks, such as Facebook and Instagram. The tactic is the same for getting emails, for example. Offer a digital baitand in return ask for the number of WhatsApp and that the person adds you to receive something, such as ebook, articles, tips, infographics, video, among others. These rewards offer value to the customer.
Promote your WhatsApp with publications of this type “Contact us at WhatsApp (phone number) and send the #offer exclusive code to get a discount at our store.”
To send the message, the client will have to save your contact and will become part of your transmission list.
Try to include on your site a pop-up button that appears on all pages to make it easier for visitors to be attracted. Once he shows interest, he can also add to his list.
Create value content
It's not enough to have an automated transmission list if your conversation doesn't convince you. Or if you just keep being reactive. Seek to create content for your audience, as she has already agreed to receive your communications.
Focus on the contents that bring some kind of value, as I have already said above in relation to rich materials. Research, surveys in exchange for bonuses and creative promotions always have scope.
Videos with testimonials from customers who have already purchased from you or your company can be used as social proof, where they become brand promoters and also promoters.
Think of creative campaigns that can be done with mobile phone use, curated content or even copywriting, advertising texts that use mental triggers for sales.
Capriche in the Catalog
WhatsApp Business has a catalog function that allows the entrepreneur to include the products and services it provides and can be consulted by users of the normal version of WhatsApp. The traditional application does not have such a function, because it is mainly focused on communication between people and not for companies.
The setup is easy and you can follow the steps:
- Access Settings and tap “Company Settings”;
- Tap “Catalogue”, “Add product or service”.
- If there are already one or more registered products, tap the “+” button;
- On this screen, tap “Add Images”
- Tap “Product name or service” and set a name;
- Tap “R$ Price” to set a price;
- Tap “More fields” to add the description, such as details, barcode, links;
- Tap “Save” the registration of the product or service;
- Repeat the steps for each item you want to add to the catalog.
Follow the metrics
You want to know if your campaigns are being watched by customers? In WhatsApp Business you can check the message report, with statistics on the number of messages sent, delivered and read. Learn how to view your report:
Click on the three-point icon, the top right corner of the screen, and go to “Settings”.
Select “Company Settings”, and then “Statistics”.
Check how many messages the account sent, how many messages were delivered, how many were read and how many were received from contacts or customers.
The shopping cart's here!
WhatsApp has just announced a new feature that complements the Catalog, quoted above. The shopping cart will allow users to purchase several items by sending only one message to the seller, facilitating dialogue for both parties.
This update aims to popularize the use of the messenger as a digital site of purchase and sales. Although it seems to be unfunctional, WhatsApp is increasingly commercially used by users.
According to WhatsApp, the new purchase and sale experience will simplify the control of order questions, order management and closing sales.
The company used as an example to explain the novelty, Rancho do Peixe restaurant, in Brumadinho (MG), which had early access to the shopping cart at WhatsApp and confirmed that closing sales is more efficient when customers send a cart by message, with items they want to buy.
To use the shopping cart all the user needs to do is open the catalog to find the items they want to buy and touch “Add to cart”. Once all items are added the cart can be sent to the store as a message.
WhatsApp created a video to show an example of usage.
Due to the pandemic, the need for digital tools to shop only increased. WhatsApp did a survey showing that 83% of Brazilian adults say that “they are more inclined to do business or buy from companies they can talk to by message.”
Other expected commercial facilities should arrive next year, such as the possibility to make payments directly by the app. In Brazil, there was an attempt to implement the function, which was then suspended for analysis. We've come to talk about it here on the Blog.
There are indications that the payment function may return soon with the popularization of the new form of payment of the Central Bank, the Pix.
Conclusion
Now that you know how to use WhatsApp for sales, think about creating an efficient planning to put your marketing strategies into action, where the app becomes a decisive channel for customer search and retention.
There is one WhatsApp official API, developed for customer service and relationship and allows the automation of conversations, which characterizes a tool differential.
The feature is quite useful and makes it easy to install chat buttons on websites, fan pages, Facebook ads or wherever you want to link.
